COVID-19 is a new, rapidly spreading disease that forces healthcare providers to radically change the way they practice drugs in a short period of time. In just a few weeks, doctors like Dr Siobhan Duff have changed their entire practice lives in the face of the pandemic. After three weeks, Duff, a member of the Chattanooga Family Practice, says she's not much different from the average citizen.

She earned her bachelor's degree in obstetrics and gynecology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her doctorate in obstetrics and gynecology from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Her passion for high-risk obstetrics led her to continue her education at the Medical University of South Carolina and in 2014 she won a scholarship to study maternal fetal medicine. After the scholarship, Dr. Hawk had the opportunity to pursue an academic career and earn a Master of Science in Clinical Research at the UVA School of Public Health and Health Sciences in the Department of Health. She remained on the faculty and practiced as a primary care physician in the University of Virginia Department of Student Health and as an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Virginia Commonwealth University.

In this role, she is dedicated to serving residents and medical students and is also a member of the board of directors of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been honored by several academic and professional associations, including the National Academy of Medical Sciences, the Association of American Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Society of Reproductive Medicine, and the International Society for Obstetrical and Gynecological Medicine.
