My name is Avery and I'm a self-professed artisan geek. I love the theater, film, literature, and music, of all natures and types. I am taking time off from school to work and build life experience (read: I dropped out 'cause I'm a slacker that couldn't get up for class and I figured no school is worth dropping several grand a year to spin wheels). When I go back I plan on completing a degree in management, music, theatre, or something else. No clue, really.

I have some strange interests, as you can discover below, and I'm something of a geek. My nickname is Penguin due primarily to the fact that I used to sing in a classical chamber choir, full tuxedo and all. The penguin is by far my favorite animal but ironically my least favorite Batman villain. (I'm a Riddler kind of guy myself.)

I'd like to think that I'm cute. I know I'm not an Abercrombie boy, but I plan on working on that. Eventually. (I'd love to date someone who can push me to get to the gym, actually.) I'm very quirky. I am generally a rather high-energy, overdramatic individual. I once put it as "the channel up button on the remote control in my mind got stuck and now the channels won't stop changing." Yes, that smacks of ADD (though I used to play D&D and I'm in the SCA. WTF!) but I manage.

I am a Christ-follower in terms of religious status, but I would classify myself as a liberal Christian deist. Going to heaven and not gonna make a big fuss out of it on the way. i get bored easily and when i get bored bad decisions usually follow. i'm still not sure whether or not i'm the kind of person who can ever learn contentment. i don't understand the concept of settling. i have met few people who have made much of an impact on me. i like to debate and there are more than a few people, friends among them, who would say i am a bitch. i don't personally consider myself a bitch, i just never back down from any type of challenge if i know that i am right. i love music and the people that create it. how they can so eloquantly describe emotions i can't find words for through melodies and lyrics inspires me. unintended by muse is my favorite song right now because it summarizes beautifully where my life is. i am condesending, capricious, cliche, cabalistic, confused, clever, contentious, curious, callous... ok thats enough c words even though i can think of a couple of others that have been used to describe me. i can't do an accent to save my life, unless you count gizmo from gremlins and even that isn't a good one. it takes a while for me to fall in love and only a few minutes for me to stop giving a shit. i will be an author, i love to write however, as mentioned above, i can tend to be cliche so thats something i'm working on. if you are a twenty or thirty year old woman with a tinkerbell anything, i think your trashy. i think about hitting things a lot. in the jung typology test i am an intj. i can see through people immediately. don't ever try to lie to me because if i care about you i will remember everything you say and it will be come obvious eventually. on the DiSC profile I am a D results oriented. one thing that no one can say about me is that i am fake. people always know where they stand with me for better or worse. i am very judgemental but not about sterotypes or preconceptions. i will know within five minutes of meeting you if i like you or not...

I strive to be an example to my children by exhibiting loyalty and honesty (with the exception of having not yet told my 9 yr old the truth about Santa Claus). I have been by myself for a long time. I had an accident and got disabled but can still do all but the most strenuos physical things. I am very laid back, and enjoy going out, but not to nightclubs anymore, I rarely ever drink and I can't dance. I just accepted my invitation to the Peace Corps. I leave in June for Mongolia. I like to read when I'm alone and play board games or card games when with friends. I prefer the summer months. I've recently taken up knitting, sewing.

Since graduating high school I've been focusing entirely on long term goals. I'm just treading water until I graduate. During this long, boring period, I've been trying to improve myself. I'm cutting down on the amount of time I watch television, trying to eat better, trying to become (what I consider) a better person. I've also been studying French and, for the last few days, Mongolian.

I've never felt the need to try alcohol, cigarettes, coffee or any illegal substances, and for the last few years I've also cut out legal drugs. I think my natural immune system can fight off colds and headaches without medication. I don't like modern technology, I think it causes more harm than good in most cases. I also disagree with sperm banks, fertility treatments, and artificial insemination. Why can't those people or even the people that can have children adopt some of the millions of kids that need homes?

I enjoy testing my will power. I give up food items or entertainment items that I like for a set amount of time. A few years ago I gave up soda for a couple months, just to test it out. It doesn't taste good to me anymore. I gave up cheese for Lent one year (I'm not religious, it was just a good deadline). I gave up meat for a couple weeks last year and that became vegetarianism. This year I think I'll try Ramadan, but I'm not optimistic about my success at that. (Update on that, it was easier than I expected but my former Muslim friend said that it's harder in the hot climates, so maybe i'll try again if I ever get to a desert).

I am really bad at these but I will try and sum my self up the best way I can. I am from a very redneck hillbilly family. I am the oldest son of 6 kids. I am gay and am proud of it. I will do anything for my friends as well as the one I am with. I have a had quite the life but so glad that I went through it. I value everything I receive even if it is only a rock. I fall for people real quick so I have learned to build walls. I am a hopeless-romantic wanting nothing more but someone to call mine. I am play video-games and love to talk about them. I'm from CA and have traveled all over, so its really hard to offend me. Different cultures have different customs. Now I'm angry.... I managed to join up with NASA and and went through astronaut training for 6 years, I flew one mission in which I repaired a hydraulic navigation unit for a satellite. I managed to weld the thing so badly that by the time we landed, the multi million dollar satellite had broken free and sailed away to the deep dark void of space where no one could save it (you probably saw this on the news, yeah that was me) so needless to say when i got back they quietly asked me to leave. But i didn't care because i got to space walk and that is all i ever really wanted to do. plus i stole a piece of moon rock from their lab before i left, so i feel vindicated. Now i work for lockheed developing new plasma rockets for the next generation of space travel.

I'm a liad back kinda girl who loves to laugh. I like to try new things and meet new people, and make new friends. I'm a single mom of a 3 year old little boy and am trying to finish school after some delay (better late than never, or so I'm told, lol) I stay busy sometimes with school, my son, and other things. I really like the outdoors and am interested in sustainable design. I try to be as open and honest as possible. I'm very loving, understanding, and try to have fun and laugh every chance I get. My son is my life, and am hoping to find someone that is cool with that. I try to avoid drama, as it can be an unnecesary evil. I prefer to talk things out and have civil and mature conversations. I like all kinds of music, especially celtic music, and 20's and 30's jazz and swing. I like SF/F lit and movies, good whisky and port wines, nature, animals, fencing and medieval history. I like to work in my workshop at metalworking, leatherworking, woodworking and anything else that strikes my fancy. I play guitar and like to sing.

I'm currently finishing up my B.S. in Business Management at Utc, and someday I want to go to law school.
I'm analytical and curious; I enjoy learning about almost anything, as long as its interesting. Sometimes I feel like an information sponge because I seem to remember lots of things others can overlook. I'm not a 100% sure what I want to do with my life and where it will take me because the world is so big and full of opportunity, who can know what the future holds?
I'm defnitely an open-minded person. I tend to see people who are different as just people who've made choices in their lives differently from my own, and I can respect that wholeheartedly because we're all subject to our own experiences and no one else's. If you have anything against people because of their religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation then don't bother talking to me.

I go to school Monday-Friday 7-2:30. I work most evenings 4:30-10:30. and most weekend afternoons. I love to work out, which includes running (usually 3 miles) and spin class. Less than a year ago I made a decision to not chemically straighten my hair anymore. I am currently learning and enjoying figuring out new styles and techniques. I like to read, play golf, pool, fish and I enjoy hanging out at the lake with my kids and my parents.

I am a full time student along with working full time as an accounting clerk at a local college. When I am not working and doing homework I am playing mandolin in a bluegrass band.

hmm... well... for starters I'M AWESOME. :) Grew up in Portland Oregon. Middle child of two brothers. Raised by a single mom. Um..I didn't go to highschool, so I kinda isolated myself and now I'm a little loopy as a result. But Im really sweet once I get to know a person. Emily says I'm nuts, and I guess thats true... but I cant really dEscribe this nuttiness. I guess I just have a weird way of seeing things. things I hate would include... people who eat apples super loud like, or smacking of any kind. UGH! People that turn into my lane when the lane next to me is open, but for some reason they want to get RIGHT in front of me. WHY????? I also dislike when Im in a public restroom and there are a million stalls, but the person that comes in HAS to poo in the stall RIGHT next to me. When people see you and ask how you are doing but keep walking before you get to answer. WHY ASK?!!!! just say hello and stop pretending that you care. CATS. (they kinda scare me) things that I enjoy...Visiting family when I go back home. conversation... love love love it. about anything. it rocks. ... bright colors, waking up in the morning thinking its time to get up and realizing that you still have three hours to sleep. That makes me happy. rats. so they have gross tails... they are adorable. A man who is wearing nice cologne. Stepping on really dry crunchy leaves or those little hats that acorns wear. I like the crunchy feeling. and last but not least... PUDDING!
